My First Album

Now Is Forever was made with Greg van Bueren between Amsterdam and Singapore, across roughly a year and a half. Ten tracks shaped by the house music, dancefloors and people that have been part of my life for more than 30 years.

Dutch-born and Singapore-based, I’ve spent more than three decades immersed in house music. As a DJ, producer, promoter and agent, I’ve experienced the culture from multiple angles, building relationships and sharing dancefloors across Amsterdam, London, Ibiza, New York, Chicago, Singapore and beyond.

But Now Is Forever is more than just another release. It’s a full-circle moment. A statement. A celebration of a lifelong relationship with house music.

The title says it all. It’s about the now. About being fully present. It’s about honouring that little kid inside me who fell in love with this music and never let go.

I first made my mark in the Dutch underground through Club Risk and later RiskSoundSystem, two platforms that helped shape nightlife culture in the Netherlands throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

Crafted not out of commercial pressure but out of creative necessity, Now Is Forever is the product of pure love—for the culture, for the craft, for the music.

After decades spent championing the music of others, Now Is Forever is me adding my own chapter to the culture that has shaped my life.

It is a deeply personal tribute to the music, people and places that shaped me. From the clubs of Amsterdam and London to the sounds of Chicago, New York and Detroit, decades of dancefloors, record stores, studios and late-night conversations distilled into one body of work.

Now Is Forever reflects the musical universe that has always defined me. A world where soulful house, deep house, Chicago house, Detroit techno and underground club culture have never existed as separate scenes, but as different expressions of the same spirit.

From deep and soulful grooves to raw house cuts and acid-tinged late-night moments, the album explores house music in its full spectrum. It mirrors the way I’ve always approached a dancefloor as a DJ: not as a collection of tracks, but as a journey through the many moods and moments that make a great night unforgettable.

Created together with long-time collaborator Greg van Bueren (Hardsoul), and featuring Mike Dunn, Bluey Robinson, Marc Evans and John Agesilas, Now Is Forever brings together years of experience, inspiration and dedication.

This isn’t just nostalgia. It’s about translating that classic spirit into the now. Because when you’re on a dancefloor, truly in the music, there’s no past, no future. Just now.

And now is forever.

Produced with Greg van Bueren, the original unfolds as an extended acid-house journey driven by a raw 303, evolving breaks and strings. DJ Deep delivers two distinct interpretations: a hypnotic house remix and a stripped-back drums version built around space, restraint and groove.

Future Madness is the second single from my debut album, Now Is Forever. Where the first single was direct and vocal-led, this one moves into darker, deeper and more hypnotic territory.

The original runs close to eight minutes. It draws on the raw energy of early Chicago acid without trying to recreate the past: a persistent 303, evolving breaks and expansive strings, built as a journey rather than a quick payoff. More warehouse than club. Less obvious, more tension. It takes its time.

DJ Deep and I have known each other for decades. He was a regular guest at Club Risk, so this collaboration grew from a long personal and musical relationship rather than a conventional remix commission.

His main remix brings the track into tighter, hypnotic house territory while keeping its raw edge. The stripped-back drums version stands firmly on its own: space, restraint and groove, shaped into a focused DJ tool.

Let Me Take You There is the first single from my album and the first release on MWR Music. I’d been playing the instrumental for over a year. It already worked on the dancefloor, but every time I played it, I heard Mike Dunn’s voice on it. Mike gave the track exactly what it needed.

Thirty years ago, I brought Mike Dunn to Amsterdam for one of my Club Risk nights. Back then, I never imagined we would one day release a record together.

Let Me Take You There is the first single from my debut album, Now Is Forever, and the first track Greg van Bueren and I wrote for the project.

I first tested the instrumental at Paradiso in February 2025. In June 2026, Bobby & Steve became the first DJs to play the version featuring Mike Dunn. Later, Godwin Pereira and I gave the mastered version one final club test at CÉ LA VI in Singapore.

The release went on to reach #18 in the Traxsource House Top 100 and appeared in DJ charts around the world.

Much love to Mike Dunn for bringing his unmistakable voice and energy to the record, and to Greg van Bueren for creating it with me.
